Selection Process
|
- When a limited submission (LS) program is identified, an LS announcement is created that includes a brief description, the funding requirements, and a campus internal deadline for pre-proposal submission. This announcement is then sent to the campus community via Associate Deans for Research, and it is also posted on the OSP Limited Submissions website.
- Principal Investigators interested in the funding opportunity presented by the LS must first submit a pre-proposal to their respective Associate Dean for Research. OSP will suggest a college deadline date in its LS announcement, though each College may select a time frame of their choosing. Pre-proposals typically include a Cover Form, Project Description, and Project Budget.
- When there is more than one pre-proposal from a School or College, the Dean will review and rank the pre-proposals using OSP recommended guidelines. Colleges must submit prioritized pre-proposals to OSP by the internal deadline date.
- Once received, OSP will convene a VPR Selection Committee that will review the rankings and comments from the Colleges and then select the most competitive pre-proposal(s).
- The Principal Investigator(s) of the selected pre-proposal(s) is/are notified and asked to prepare a full proposal.
- The Principal Investigator submits the full proposal to OSP for review and approval; OSP submits the proposal to the sponsor following established guidelines.
