Biomedical Research Grant
Information Now Available

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) announces the start of the submission season for Biomedical Research applications to the San Antonio Area Foundation.

For over forty years, the San Antonio Area Foundation has distributed funds to local initiatives for the betterment of our community. Thanks to generous contributions, the San Antonio Area Foundation continues to award grants to nonprofit groups serving San Antonio and South Texas.

UTSA has a long-standing and successful tradition of submitting grant applications to the San Antonio Area Foundation. Individuals are encouraged to contact Claudia Guzman in OSP to become familiar with the SAAF electronic Biomedical Research application process as well as obtaining general information regarding the OSP routing process.

Applications are due to OSP no later than 10:00 AM, Monday November 9th. A complete application entails a routed Non-Federal Application in Cayuse as well as an e-mail to Claudia Guzman with the PI's login/password to the SAAF application site.

However, any Principal Investigator who received a Biomedical Research grant in 2008 or 2009 is not eligible to submit an application this fall for the 2010 awards.

Please note that this year UTSA's SAAF submission season is for the Biomedical Research Grant submissions only. This is due to several changes that have been implemented within the San Antonio Area Foundation with respect to their Community Grant submission procedures. The most prominent change is that the university is limited to one Community Grant submission. OSP will release a limited submission procedure for the Community Grant opportunity later this fall.
